Dan Phillips, CFA

Dan Phillips is the Chief Investment Officer of SMArtX Advisory Solutions, responsible for overseeing SMArtX investment activities – including serving as Chair for the SMArtX Investment Policy Committee, communicating SMArtX market views and managing the SMArtX multi-asset portfolios. Phillips also works closely with SMArtX clients and prospects, providing investment guidance and consultation. Prior to SMArtX, Phillips was Director of Asset Allocation Strategy at Northern Trust Asset Management – where he was lead portfolio manager for Northern Trust multi-asset strategies and was responsible for producing the firm’s capital market assumptions; constructing strategic portfolios; formulating tactical positioning; and communicating Northern Trust views to clients and prospects.

Phillips started his career in the financial industry in 2005 after graduating from the University of Iowa with a BBA in Finance and Economics. He earned his Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 2009 and his MBA – with concentrations in Finance, Economics and International Business – from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business in 2014.
